About Peter
Peter Thompson is a Barbadian strategic management consultant with 30+ years of experience. His involvement in the technology space began in 1993 when he lived in a Canadian town without an internet service provider, so he co-founded one. After that company was sold to the regional telco giant, he focussed increasingly on the management and leadership of mission driven and nonprofit organizations, becoming a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) in the process. This diverse background has developed his pattern recognition and systems thinking skills, which he now uses to catalyse Caribbean economic development.
At DX Alliance
At DX Alliance, Peter serves as a strategic advisor who returned to Barbados in 2017 and instigated the Welcome Stamp visa program during the COVID pandemic. This initiative, which attracted remote workers to sustain the local economy, led to his involvement with DX Alliance because it extends the use of remote work technologies to accelerate Caribbean enterprise. He contributes an elder’s perspective while focusing on connecting Caribbean talent with global opportunities and strengthening ties between the islands and their diaspora.
